To all those who sometimes live in the liminal world of insomnia ~ I salute you !

These little candle-adorned women have become a recent part of the cast of characters populating my paintings. I like the idea that a little candle hat is symbolic of an active mind full of thoughts and ideas.
Here in The Insomniac I tried to show the odd space I occupy when I have insomnia, and those little intrusive thoughts ( not necessarily bad ones) suddenly materializing in my mind like a little elf with a lantern emerging from a dark tunnel of trees.
