A minimalist peep through a window into a serene and untouched world. I set out to paint these peaceful landscapes to offer the feeling like chaos has been utterly obilterated. They feel like a nice kind of place to disappear to in tough times. To scrub it all off in icy water. I chose a cold teal palette brightened by some yellow. I think the yellow is a little weird and surprising in a way that I like. For me, the black circle represents a strange black sun that could take turns emanating cold light or drawing you into it like a portal. A void that embraces you.  The piece is surrounded by a black painted element that frames the scene like a window.
