The black bird appeared against the murky purplish area like a weird little surprise while I was conjuring up the framing elements in this composition.
And then near the end, when I was almost finished the piece, I added the small, white sun peaking from behind a distant tree, and that little smudgey white circle can sometimes look like the shiny spot on the skull : )
