ABOUT THIS ARTWORK:
This little bat messenger carries the phrase Stay Safe, words lifted straight from the story written by myself and Kate Horowitz, "Witch Post". Bats, in our narrative, are trusted couriers, flying between our worlds when everything else seems on edge. They become small guardians of communication, delivering care across vast continental distances, even when danger is near.
About Witch Post:
"Witch Post" is a seven-part story that grew out of a joy-seeking pandemic collaboration with writer Kate Horowitz, who lives in Maine, USA. We exchanged letters and built the story together one piece at a time, placing ourselves within it as witches.
Writing in character allowed us to amplify emotion and embrace a dramatic tone. The story moves through fear and courage, hand-wringing and heroic rescue.
At its heart, it is a story about coping, trying, and caring for one another. That spirit of connection through creative expression forms the quiet undercurrent of this series.
