This is a painting whose cover opens to reveal a secret compartment inside with a little bar to help stop items from falling out. Though there is nothing inside at this time - this is one or seven book boxes that held 7 parts of a story: Witch Post: Coast to Coast. The story was written by myself, and Kate Horowitz, by mailing letters back and forth between Vancouver, BC Canada, and Maine USA.
In 2026 Witch Post Coast to Coast will be published online, & I'll notify the owners of these "book boxes" when they can read a digital copy of the story that inspired this and the other seven pieces.
Three drilled holes inside the box allow you to attach the piece to the wall from the inside with screws or nails (tip: just don't put the nails all the way into the wall, so you can easily remove the piece later without damage)
